Cops are looking for the suspects who allegedly started a fight with a senior in Long Island City before robbing him.

Police from the 108th Precinct in Long Island City are looking for a couple who allegedly assaulted and robbed a senior in Queens Plaza during the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 21.
Police say the 66-year-old male victim was walking in front of the City Acres Market at 29-18 Queens Plaza South when he was approached by a man and woman who engaged him in a verbal dispute. The argument turned violent and a physical altercation ensued, with the suspects punching and kicking the victim before forcibly removing his bag and running off in an unknown direction, police said.

An NYPD spokesperson said the contents of the stolen bag have not been determined.
The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspects and described the man as having a dark complexion with a very heavy build, with black hair in short braids, a beard and a mustache. He wore an orange T-shirt, black sweatpants, white sneakers and black headphones. The woman is described as having a dark complexion with a heavy build, with black hair in a bun, wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and clear-rimmed eyeglasses.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to their arrest and indictment.

Through Aug. 23, the 108th Precinct has reported 126 robberies so far in 2026, two fewer than the 128 reported at the same point last year, a decline of 1.6%, according to the most recent CompStat report. Felony assaults are also trending lower in the precinct, with 189 reported so far this year, a half dozen fewer than the 195 reported at the same point in 2025, a decrease of 3.1%, according to CompStat.
