Mayor Zohran Mamdani is expanding access to doula care for New Yorkers.

Starting in January, the city’s health plan will cover doula care for city employees.

More than 4,200 people have already received doula care through the Citywide Doula Initiative since it launched four years ago.

Daijanique White, CEO of doula care business Gold Hour Nest, joined “Mornings On 1” to discuss the benefits and what the expansion could mean for families.
