The Bronx is in for a bit of a weather roller coaster over the next few days. Today is dry and bright with highs in the lower 80s. Thursday, brings increasing clouds, humidity and a chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a downpour potentially causing brief street flooding. Any severe storm brings the risk of damaging winds, hail, and an isolated spin-up tornado.

Friday keeps the unsettled pattern going, with some sunshine breaking through but another chance for showers or a thunderstorm. The good news? The weekend looks much more inviting.

Saturday should be the standout, with a mix of clouds and sunshine and comfortable summer temperatures—ideal for a walk in the park, an outdoor lunch or a trip. Sunday stays partly sunny and warm, although humidity returns and a shower can’t be ruled out. After a notably wet August in the city, the forecast offers a welcome glimpse of drier weather heading into the weekend.

Bottom line: Keep the umbrella handy Thursday and Friday, then make the most of a brighter, more comfortable Saturday and a warm Sunday.
