One man was killed, and another was seriously wounded, in a double stabbing in the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon allegedly caused by an emotionally disturbed suspect, police reported.
According to police sources, the bloodshed unfolded just after 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 26 at the corner of Davidson and West Tremont Avenues in Mount Hope.
Police reported that the two victims had become involved in a verbal dispute with the suspect, who then went on the attack. Following the bloody assault, authorities said, the perpetrator fled the scene.
Officers from the 46th Precinct responded to the scene and found a 32-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest while a 33-year-old suffered multiple puncture wounds to the torso.
EMS rushed both men to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where the younger of the two was pronounced dead. Police have not yet released the deceased man’s identity, pending family notification. The 33-year-old victim, meanwhile, is expected to survive.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation. Police described the suspect as a man wearing a green shirt and light-colored shorts.
