Groundswell Community Mural Project hosted another paint day in Astoria last week as a part of their 12 community-driven murals across all five Boroughs to celebrate the 2026 World Cup in New York City with the Office of the Mayor, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development!
This fourth mural will be located at Steinway Playground, where the paint day took place, and is designed by Groundswell teaching artist, Colleen Kong-Savage, who helped Astoria community members and beyond to paint the mural together.
