Queens detectives have a description and photos of a suspect who brutally stabbed a 33-year-old man to death just steps away from his home on Sunday night.
According to law enforcement sources, the stabbing occurred in front of an auto repair shop at 220-20 Merrick Blvd. in Laurelton at around 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 23. The suspect, who has been on the run since Sunday, approached Jose Scott and stabbed him multiple times in the torso, abdomen and back.
Officers from the 116th Precinct rushed to the bloody scene after getting a 911 call about an assault in progress. However, authorities said the suspected attacker was able to get away fast, fleeing the scene on foot to parts unknown before officers arrived.
Meanwhile, EMS whisked Scott to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, but he could not be saved and was pronounced dead.
Police on Thursday released surveillance photos and video of the suspect, who remains at large. Police said he was last seen wearing a gray shirt, green pants and red slippers.
