New York man stole headstone from cemetery in Washington County, police say
WASHINGTON COUNTY, N.Y. —
A New York man was arrested after police said he stole a gravestone from a cemetery in Washington County.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said Bruce Gordon Sr., 66, of Jackson, allegedly stole a headstone from Greenmount Cemetery on Aug. 19.
Police later recovered the headstone and charged Gordon with grand larceny and cemetery desecration. He was cited and is due to appear in court to answer the charges.
