THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 65-year-old woman was pushed onto the subway tracks in an unprovoked attack Thursday afternoon at a Bronx subway station, according to police.
Officers received a 911 call around 1:40 p.m. reporting that a woman had been pushed onto the tracks. Police said the woman was inside the East 180th Street Station, standing on the northbound No. 5 platform.

An unidentified male approached the 65-year-old woman and pushed her onto the tracks. The man then fled on foot, according to authorities.
Officers helped the victim back onto the platform.
Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. The woman is expected to survive and is in stable condition.
The man was last seen wearing blue jeans before fleeing, according to police.
No arrests have been made; an investigation remains ongoing.
