Watermark is celebrating the legacy of Harbor Queen, one of Annapolis’ most recognizable vessels, with the introduction of “Queenie,” a new commemorative mascot inspired by the longtime harbor tour boat.

Harbor Queen has been a familiar presence in Annapolis Harbor since the 1970s, carrying generations of residents, students, families, and visitors on the water. Over the past five decades, the vessel has been part of school field trips, summer camps, pizza parties, proms, celebrations, and other Annapolis waterfront memories.
A New Mascot for an Annapolis Icon
Queenie was created to honor Harbor Queen’s history while adding a new interactive element for passengers, families, and visitors at City Dock.
Watermark is inviting people to take photos with Queenie, share them on social media, and tag @watermarkjourney with #HarborQueen for a chance to win four tickets aboard Harbor Queen, along with four drink tickets and four popcorn vouchers.
Watermark will select one winner each Friday. Participants are encouraged to be creative with their photos and captions while keeping submissions fun and respectful.
Celebrating the Past and Future of City Dock
“Annapolis City Dock is seeing a lot of changes,” Watermark owner and president Jake Iversen reflected, “We just want to celebrate the long-storied history Harbor Queen holds as we look towards the future memories she will be a part of in this changing landscape.”
Harbor Queen has long been one of the most visible symbols of the Annapolis waterfront, offering narrated cruises and serving as a gateway to the Chesapeake Bay for visitors and locals alike.
A Part of Annapolis for Generations
Watermark said the new mascot is intended to reflect the spirit of the vessel and the memories it has helped create.
Watermark’s Chief Operating Officer, Ginny Mininger added, “Watermark’s Harbor Queen is more than a boat, she’s part of the fabric of Annapolis. For generations, she has represented the Chesapeake’s proud maritime tradition. From summer jobs to fourth-grade field trips, Harbor Queen has been a part of our community for as long as we can remember. We take so much pride in sharing the history, culture, and beauty of the Chesapeake region with visitors from around the world while having a whole lot of fun along the way. We wanted to bring that spirit of life in a new and fun way and thus Queenie was born! ”
The introduction of Queenie adds a new piece to Harbor Queen’s story as Annapolis City Dock continues to change and Watermark looks to carry the vessel’s role in the community into the next generation.
