BAYONNE, N.J. (Aug. 30, 2026) – The South Florida men’s golf team will open its 2026-27 season at the inaugural New York Harbor Cup, hosted by Rutgers, on August 31 – September 1 at Bayonne Golf Club in Bayonne, New Jersey.
 
The tournament consists of three rounds, with 36 holes played on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The Bulls will tee off from the first hole at 7:35 a.m. on Monday with Marquette and Nebraska. Teams will tee off at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, with awards presented at the conclusion of play at 3:00 p.m. The Bayonne Golf Club is a par-72 layout measuring 7,250 yards.
 
South Florida is led by head coach Steve Bradley, who has guided the program to 10 NCAA Regional appearances in the last 11 seasons, not including the shortened 2019-20 COVID season.

Previewing the Bulls
Wilhelm Ryding led the Bulls with a 70.09 stroke average last season, the second-best single season mark in program history. Last season, he earned PING Honorable Mention All-America and PING Southeast All-Region Team honors, while also being named the American Conference Player of the Year.
 
Hugo Trommetter ranked fourth on the team with a 72.26 stroke average last season. He recorded four rounds in the 60s and 14 rounds at par or better. His best finish came at the American Conference Championship, placing 11th with a 6-under 210.
 
Reggie Fear will compete in his first tournament with the Bulls after spending the previous two seasons at Eckerd College. He posted a 70.90 stroke average last season and made his second NCAA Division II Southeast Regional appearance as an individual.
 
Vincent Stjernfeldt is a transfer from Baylor who posted a 72.94 stroke average in 17 rounds for the Bears last season. He recorded a season-best 4-under 212 at the 2025 Trinity Forest Invitational.
 
Jackson Spybey ranked second on the team with a 71.20 stroke average and posted 22 rounds at par or better. He carded 11 rounds in the 60s, including a record-breaking final round at the Linger Longer Invitational, where he shot a 9-under 63.
 
Wylie Inman will compete in his first collegiate tournament as an individual.
 
The Field
The nine-team field includes Kansas, Little Rock, Marquette, Michigan State, Nebraska, Purdue, Rutgers, and West Virginia.

The Bulls have won six American Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had six individual conference champions, including Jake Peacock in both 2024 and 2025. They went to nine straight NCAA Regional appearances from 2013-2022, including a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Conference Coach of the Year six times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 25 tournament wins under Bradley, by far the most under any coach in program history.
