The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a man sought for questioning in connection to a sexual assault in Brooklyn early Saturday.

Police said the incident occurred at around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, near the intersection of 5th Avenue and 15th Street in the South Slope neighborhood.

According to the NYPD, a 38-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man from behind while standing in front of 222 15th St.

The man pushed the 38-year-old to the ground and sexually assaulted her before fleeing on foot, police say.

The NYPD describes the man as having a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a tan baseball cap, black shirt, gray shorts, and black and white sneakers.
