Robert Stockert, 64, of Hensonville, was charged with two counts of first-degree rape, New York State Police said Monday, Aug. 24.

Authorities began investigating Stockert on Tuesday, Aug. 18 after receiving a report that Stockert had sex with a child under age 11, state police said. The Greene County Child Advocacy Center assisted in the investigation.

In addition to the two rape counts, Stockert was charged with first-degree course of sexual contact against a child and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, police said. He was arraigned in Coxsackie Town Court and booked in Greene County Jail without bail until his next court appearance Monday, Sept. 14, authorities said.
