Downstairs, Operator Emz will provide the soundtrack as guests dance among more than 20 historic subway cars, ranging from early wooden elevated cars to the retro-futuristic “Million-Dollar Car” and colorful Bluebirds and Redbirds associated with New York’s transit system in the 1970s and ’80s.
Guests will also be able to explore the museum’s exhibits throughout the night, including The New York Transit Museum: 50 Years of Stories, which revisits the institution’s 1976 opening, and Ode to the Orange Seats, an exhibition celebrating the iconic subway seats introduced in the 1970s.
