The Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC) will operate a Queens tourism kiosk at the US Open at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, providing tennis fans with a wealth of resources about the borough.
The kiosk, operated by the QEDC’s Queens Tourism Council, will operate at the National Tennis Center throughout the US Open main draw, which started on Sunday, Aug. 30, and runs until the men’s singles final on Sunday, Sept. 13.
The booth, which is located between Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong Stadium, will offer information on the best restaurants, hotels, cultural organizations and recreational activities that Queens has to offer.
The USTA has provided the Queens Tourism Council with a kiosk to serve as an information and referral center for Queens at the US Open since 2011, offering an opportunity to promote the borough that is home to the final Grand Slam of the year.
A number of elected officials attended the launch of the 2026 kiosk on Aug. 26, including U.S. Rep. Grace Meng, State Sen. Leroy Comrie, Assembly Member Sam Berger and Council Member Sandra Ung.
Representatives from the offices of Queens Borough President Donovan Richards and Council Member Shanel Thomas-Henry also attended the launch event, joining a number of private partners such as National Tennis Center Chief Operating Officer Danny Zausner, USTA Chief Operating Officer Andrea Hirsch, QEDC Executive Director Ben Guttmann and Queens Tourism Council Director Rob MacKay.
The USTA also hosted around 200 seniors from Ung and Thomas-Henry’s council districts on Aug. 26 as part of US Open Fan Week, which saw tens of thousands of tennis fans descend on the National Tennis Center for free grounds access. Fan Week featured free access to US Open qualifiers and player practice, as well as paid access to the mixed doubles tournament and an exhibition match featuring tennis legends Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick and John McEnroe.
The US Open main draw kicked off on Sunday, with four-time champion Novak Djokovic suffering a shock first-round exit when he lost to Argentina’s Mariano Navarone on Arthur Ashe on Sunday night.
American hopeful Frances Tiafoe avoided a first-round scare when he rallied to see off compatriot Martin Damm Jr. in five sets on Monday night.
