NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — If your child is taking a school bus for the upcoming school year, you will be able to receive updates and track the buses via the NYC School Bus App, a free app available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
The app will tell families the expected arrival time of the school bus and send notifications regarding any delays and additional information.

The app is available for families of students who receive bus transportation from the New York City Department of Education. This includes students at public, non-public, and charter schools.
To use the app, families will need to register for an account on the NYC Schools Account website. Contact your child’s school for their Student ID number and then download the app.
Families can also share information about student attendance and busing needs through the app.
The app is available in ten languages. There is also a web version of the app that can be accessed without a smartphone.
