All aboard! Colin Jost and Pete Davidson’s ferry is transforming into the Snapple Island Ferry into a comedy club for one night only.
Back in 2022, Jost and Davidson made headlines as part of an investment group that purchased the decommissioned John F. Kennedy Staten Island Ferry via auction for $280,000. Since then, the once and former Saturday Night Live stars (Jost joined SNL in the writers’ room in 2005, while Davidson was a cast member from 2014 to 2022) have put their boat to some use. For example, the ferry was the venue for the 2025 Tommy Hilfiger New York Fashion Week show.
But on September 17, the friends are set to host their slightly-used Staten Island Ferry’s biggest event yet: the Snapple Island Ferry Comedy Show, featuring a to-be-announced lineup featuring six rising stars in comedy.

Colin Jost and Pete Davidson’s ferry will be a comedy club for one night
The Snapple Island Comedy show promises to give New Yorkers “an unexpectedly refreshing break from the daily grind,” per the official press release.
Transforming the iconic ferry into a fully-functioning floating venue has been a priority for the two friends ever since they purchased it.
“Turning the ferry into a floating comedy club with Snapple makes more sense than anything else we considered, and it still doesn’t make much sense,” Davidson said an statement. “Either way, we’re giving people a chance to take a break, have a laugh, and do something completely ridiculous with us.”

During Davidson’s February 2025 visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he revealed that the ferry is “a lot closer than people think” to being fully operational. He shared that their co-investors — a list that includes The Stand Restaurant & Comedy Club owner Paul Italia — planned a multi-use entertainment complex for the boat down the road.
“You know, it’s only been two years and people are like, ‘I guess it’s dead,'” Davidson explained to Jimmy Fallon. “And it’s like… We need like $100 million! Give us a second!”
In 2025, Jost told People that the ferry “is absolutely the dumbest and least thought-through purchase I’ve ever made in my life.” But it seems the comedy club dream is finally becoming a reality.
