Paramount+ is expanding its documentary offering with a slate of three licensed feature-length projects set to launch on the streamer from later this month through early 2027.
The lineup includes films from directors and producers including Barry Avrich, Mohammed Ali Naqvi and Alysa Nahmias, with Lawrence Bender and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle among the executive producers and production partners attached to projects.
The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue, directed and produced by Avrich, follows retired Israeli general Noam Tibon as he undertakes a harrowing rescue mission to save his family as Hamas terrorists invade their home during the October 7, 2023 attacks.
The film had its world premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and will land on Paramount+ on September 29. It is produced by Mark Selby and executive produced by Bender.
Hanging By a Wire, produced by Naqvi and Bilal Sami, tells the story of eight passengers who face a race against time after a cable car malfunction leaves them suspended above a valley.
The doc comes from EverWonder Studio, Universal Pictures Content Group, Mindhouse and 64th Street Media, with executive producers including Ian Orefice, Amanda Spain, Jon Adler, Bonnie McGrath, Aloke Devichand, Arron Fellows, Helen Parker, Davis Guggenheim and Rahdi Taylor. It will debut on Paramount+ on October 28.
Rounding out the new doc slate is Cookie Queens, which follows four driven young girls competing to become a top-selling ‘Cookie Queen’ during Girl Scout cookie season.
Directed by Alysa Nahmias (Art & Krimes by Krimes), the doc is produced by Michael Dweck, Gregory Kershaw, Nahmias and Jennifer Sims, in association with Prince Harry and Markle’s Archewell Productions, Good Gravy Films and the Artemis Rising Foundation. It will land on Paramount+ on January 6, 2027.
