New York City has released its first official citywide racial equity plan following a voter-approved referendum and years of delay.
The government plan aims to increase equality across eight goals in the areas of housing, education, health, transportation, criminal justice and more.
Afua Atta-Mensah, the city’s chief equity officer and commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Equity and Racial Justice, joined “Inside City Hall” to discuss how the city plans to achieve its goals, many with set target dates in 2034.
