Logic1000 has released “The Only One,” a new collaboration with Christine and the Queens that arrives alongside the first fully realized music video of her career. The track is the latest preview of Logic1000’s second studio album, ‘Confirmation!,’ which arrives October 2 via Therapy/Because Music.
The accompanying dance film gives the song an especially significant visual setting. Directed by Dora Paphides and choreographed by Lucy Brooks, with Sky Cook serving as assistant choreographer, the video stars Rahim alongside a group of young dancers from the seaside town of Worthing. Shot with an emphasis on movement and intimacy, the piece is designed around connection between generations and the idea of young people carrying something forward.
That theme also sits at the heart of the song itself. Christine and the Queens uses the collaboration as a direct message to younger generations, building lyrics around trust, responsibility and hope while Logic1000 supplies what she describes as an ethereal, deep and open production.
“It was a true honor and inspiration for me to work with Logic1000,” Christine and the Queens says. “I immediately jumped on my mic and felt this urge to sing to the younger generations, the one who will have to take over the sorry burning world our elders legated them.”
He continues by describing “The Only One” as a song dedicated to young people who will eventually shape what comes next. “Music has to be a vessel for hope, and it’s with pride I give my entire trust to the new dreamers, the new builders of humanity. You are the only ones.”
For Logic1000, whose real name is Samantha Poulter, the collaboration also closes a creative circle that began years earlier. She and Rahim first crossed paths when Poulter remixed Christine and the Queens’ “La vita nuova” in 2020. They later reconnected while making ‘Confirmation!,’ but despite working together remotely, they had never actually met in person until filming “The Only One.”
That history made the collaboration feel especially natural once the track began taking shape. Poulter says Christine and the Queens was the person they had in mind from the earliest version of the song.
“From the early sketches of The Only One, we knew Rahim would be the perfect voice for this song,” Logic1000 says. “He embraced the track and put so much love into it.”
Poulter says the speed of the collaboration surprised her as well. She and her team did not know where Rahim would take the lyrics, but the first draft immediately confirmed that the pairing worked. “Honestly, he is a generational talent, which you can also see in the music video for the track.”
“The Only One” offers another glimpse at the direction of ‘Confirmation!,’ an album described as finding Poulter on steadier emotional ground than before. The project explores acceptance, growth and self-belief, along with the freedom that can come from abandoning the idea that a person has to become one fixed version of themselves.
Musically, the record expands Logic1000’s club-rooted approach across house, pop, downtempo, trip-hop and leftfield electronica. The album includes collaborations with Kučka, Jam City, FAUZIA, yunè pinku, Tiffi M and Christine and the Queens, widening the palette without leaving behind the emotional detail and dancefloor instinct that have become central to Poulter’s work.
Over the past several years, Logic1000 has built a reputation as one of electronic music’s more distinctive producers, earning support from artists including Four Tet, Floating Points and Caribou. Her live career has taken her to festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella and Primavera, while a sold-out four-night residency at London’s Phonox underlined the growing audience around her music. She has also brought her production approach to remixes for Dua Lipa, Shygirl and Don Toliver.
‘Confirmation!’ follows Logic1000’s 2024 debut album, ‘Mother,’ as well as her contribution to the long-running ‘DJ-Kicks’ series. Where those projects established her ability to move between club music and more intimate electronic songwriting, the second album appears to push further into personal and collaborative territory.
Christine and the Queens brings a similarly fluid background to “The Only One.” His work has consistently moved between music, theatre and dance, with recent projects including ‘Hopecore’ and ‘PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE,’ the latter co-produced with Mike Dean and featuring Madonna and 070 Shake. Earlier releases include ‘Redcar les adorables étoiles’ and ‘Chaleur Humaine.’
That shared willingness to move between genres and disciplines gives “The Only One” a natural meeting point. The song is rooted in electronic production, but its larger identity comes from the interaction between Poulter’s sound, Rahim’s message and a dance film that turns those ideas of trust and generational change into physical movement.
