Unionville resident Aidan R. Dean, 25, died in a single-vehicle crash on Route 284 in the Village of Unionville on Wednesday, Sept. 2, New York State Police announced on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Troopers responded to Route 284 at Jersey Avenue at around 9:40 p.m. A preliminary investigation found that Dean was driving a 2003 Honda north on Route 284 when the vehicle left the right shoulder for reasons that are still under investigation, police said.
The Honda then struck a cement wall before overturning and hitting a utility pole. Dean, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to State Police.
