A few years ago, no one could have predicted the rise of British food in NYC. But after Dame opened in 2021 and quickly became one of the city’s toughest tables, more spots started dabbling in scotch eggs and mushy peas. If we had to point to one reason for Dame’s success, it would have to be their fish and chips, battered with rice flour and hit with Narragansett for that signature light and lacy texture. Chippy’s, from the same team, will serve the same fried fish across town, alongside a few other items like beer and disco fries. No need to worry about reservations this time. The place will be counter service and walk-in only.
We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists.
