State Police looking for public assistance in solving 2019 Tompkins County Cold Case

NEWFIELD N.Y. — The New York State Police are asking for assistance from the public with a Tompkins County murder case which has gone cold.

The case is a home invasion homicide which occured on December 7, 2019 at 22 Shaffer Road in Newfield.

Three masked men, carrying guns, entered the home around 1:15 a.m. intending to rob the residents, according to investigators.

The suspects subsequently shot and killed Dejour X. Gandy.

Gandy was 29-years-old and had confronted the attackers inside the home before being killed.

NYSP is urging anyone who may have witnessed or who may have information regarding the death of Gandy to come forward.
