The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in locating Mark Washington, 55, who is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a Staten Island woman in a St. Albans home in June.

The NYPD has identified 55-year-old Mark Washington as a suspect wanted in connection to the murder of a Staten Island woman who was discovered shot to death inside a St. Albans home on Wednesday, June 24.
Police from the 113th Precinct responded to 911 calls from neighbors reporting noxious odors emanating from a single-family residence at 113-15 205th St. in St. Albans. Upon their arrival, officers found a badly decomposed body of a 38-year-old woman who was pronounced dead by EMS.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner deemed the incident a homicide the next day after an autopsy determined the victim was killed by a gunshot wound to the head on June 10, according to a law enforcement source. The victim was identified as Angelique Apostol, of Townsend Avenue in the Clifton section of Staten Island. The incident was described as domestic in nature.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in locating Washington who remains at large.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest and indictment.

Through Aug. 30, the 113th Precinct has reported four murders so far in 2026, the same number of murders reported at the same point last year, according to the most recent CompStat report.
