APALACHIN, N.Y. (WBNG) — An Owego woman was arrested on Wednesday after troopers said she was taking items from a home when she was caught.
Rose Ellen Birt, 35, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 2, on the charge of burglary, troopers said.
Around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, troopers went to a home on Pennsylvania Avenue in Apalachin for a report of suspicious activity.
Someone who lives in the home told Troopers that she heard noises downstairs when she believed no one should be inside.
When troopers got to the home, they found Birt hiding inside a closet in the living room.
Birt was arrested on the charge and then taken to the Tioga County Correctional Facility.
