Two people are recovering in the hospital following a second-alarm apartment building fire in Kensington on Saturday, the FDNY says.

Flames erupted on the third floor at 717 Ave. C just before noon. Officials declared a second-alarm about 15 minutes later, sending 141 EMS and fire personnel to the scene.

Paramedics took the two victims to Maimonides Hospital. Fire officials say they both suffered minor injuries.

Crews controlled the blaze in just over an hour, according to the FDNY.

The Red Cross says it registered two households for emergency assistance, including three adults and four children.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
