New York Fashion Week is almost here! Taking over the city—officially—from Thursday, September 10, to Tuesday, September 15, the Spring 2027 calendar contains schedule staples and new names alike, with a handful of big players returning and several emerging designers finding themselves on the official lineup for the first time. Opening with Henry Zankov’s debut for Diane von Furstenberg and closing with Thom Browne, the week is packed with a whopping total of 70 designer shows and presentations (not to mention all the off-calendar runways and after-hours events). But perhaps the most notable milestone this NYFW is the implementation of the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s no-fur rule, which bans all official participants from using any animal fur in their collections.

Keep reading for everything to know ahead of the Spring 2027 season—from the debuts to watch out for to the designers we’ll miss, not to mention all the pre-calendar shows.

The Pre-Calendar Calendar

As usual, a handful of houses are showing on the eve of NYFW’s official start. Ralph Lauren, Coach, Cult Gaia, J.Press, Libertine, and Rachel Comey, which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary, are all staging their shows on Wednesday, September 9.

The Debuts to Watch

One of the most highly anticipated shows of the season kicks off the official schedule Thursday morning: Henry Zankov will present his first show for Diane von Furstenberg as artistic director, a role to which he was appointed last May. (Later in the week, Zankov will also be showing his eponymous label’s Spring 2027 collection, making it an extra busy week for him.)

Emmy-winning costume designer Zaldy is also making his official NYFW debut. Best known for creating glamorous onstage looks for the likes of Lady Gaga and RuPaul, the mononymous artist presented his debut menswear collection, Boys Like Me, at the Hotel Chelsea last February. This season, he finds himself on the official calendar, sandwiched between New York favorites Zankov and Diotima on Monday, September 14.

Additional debuts include Polish label Magda Butrym, which will mark the opening of its first New York flagship with a runway show on September 13; 2025 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund runner-up Heirlome; and Stella Ishii’s industry-favorite brand, 6397, founded as an extension of her New York–based showroom, the News.

All the Emerging Designers

One highlight of NYFW is the range of emerging designers putting forth their visions for the future of the industry. In addition to the handful of debuts, fresh labels such as the folklore-inspired Mel Usine, the indulgently austere Grey’s, and Aisling Camps, known for her unconventional knitwear, are showing their sophomore and junior collections via appointments throughout the week. Industry favorites Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen, with her dramatically distorted corsets, and Emily Dawn Long, dresser of the downtown It girls, are also returning, with the latter swapping a traditional runway or presentation format for a film screening on September 12. Giovanna Flores, Sanderlak, and Meruert Tolegen are more names to watch.

Several Exciting Homecomings

After showing during London Fashion Week since February 2022, American designer-slash-fashion darling Conner Ives is coming home—much to the city’s delight. The native New Yorker, who moved overseas in 2014 to attend Central Saint Martins and has since become a beloved staple of LFW, will be showing during NYFW for the first time on Saturday, September 12.

Additionally, nearly two decades after his first New York show, Sabyasachi is back. This season, Indian luxury designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is kicking off a multiyear collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Throughout the partnership, he will pull references from the museum’s vast archives, design and handcraft fine jewelry pieces in India, and then present them in New York. The first installment, inspired by Byzantine and Roman art, will be presented during the house’s NYFW show on September 15.

Tommy Hilfiger, Monse, and threeASFOUR are also all returning this season, as is Luar—which missed the February calendar but made a surprise appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show, dressing Lady Gaga for her appearance during Bad Bunny’s set. Thom Browne is also back in the city, after showing his Fall 2026 collection in San Francisco.

A Fur-Free Milestone

The CFDA’s fur-free policy officially goes into effect this season, meaning all designers on the official schedule are prohibited from using animal fur in their Spring 2027 collections. The decision, made after years of conversations with the Humane World for Animals and Collective Fashion Justice, was first announced last December—with a nine-month grace period that gave designers time to adjust their practices accordingly.

A Moment of Silence

On September 11, shows will start at 10:00 a.m., leaving the 9:00 a.m. time slot vacant out of respect for the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

Designers We’ll Miss

While there are many homecomings and debuts, there are a few NYC favorites notably absent from the calendar, including Peter Do, Helmut Lang, and Willy Chavarria, who continues to show in Paris.
