Police in Queens are looking for the armed suspects who terrorized a family during an armed home invasion early on Wednesday morning.
Law enforcement sources said the disturbing incident occurred at about 4:10 a.m. on Sept. 9 inside a home near the corner of 101st Street and 85th Road in Richmond Hill.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police learned that three unidentified suspects forced their way inside a residence by climbing up a balcony and entering through a door. Once inside, they removed a number of collectible cards.
Moments later, authorities said, the crooks confronted a 30-year-old man who attempted to intervene. One of the suspects pulled out a weapon and struck the man in the face.
Two women inside the residence, ages 33 and 60, also approached the perpetrators and were thrown to the ground for their trouble, law enforcement sources said. One of the suspects forcibly removed the 60-year-old woman’s cellphone.

As the suspects fled the scene, police sources noted, one of the suspects displayed a gun and fired a shot in the direction of the victims, but missed hitting anyone. The home invaders were last seen fleeing southbound along 101st Street.
Officers from the 102nd Precinct respnded to the incident. The 30-year-old man was brought to Jamaica Hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police reported.
Through Sept. 6, the 102nd Precinct had reported 105 robberies year-to-date, up 12.9% from the 93 reported at the same point in 2025.
