MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A man was behind bars Thursday in the Riley County Jail following his arrest in connection with assault and criminal damage to property in Manhattan, officials said.
The arrested man was identified as Jacob Bernard Underwood, 32, of Manhattan.
Riley County Police officials filed a report for assault and criminal damage to property at approximately 5:46 p.m. Wednesday at an undisclosed location in Manhattan.

A 34-year-old woman was listed as the victim, while a 32-year-old man known to the victim, and later identified as Underwood, was listed as the suspect.
Underwood was subsequently arrested at approximately 10:39 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of Wildcat Ridge in Manhattan, officials said.
Underwood was booked into the Riley County Jail in connection with assault and criminal damage to property.
He was issued a total bond of $10,000 and remained Thursday morning in the Riley County Jail.
