Police are investigating a frightening sexual attack reported in Dongan Hills on Wednesday evening, according to the NYPD. A 37-year-old woman told officers she was struck in the face with a firearm and raped by an unidentified individual near Dongan Hills Avenue and Jefferson Street at about 6 p.m. The police did not provide the exact location where the attack occurred. Officers responded after a 911 call reporting an assault, and the suspect fled on foot and remained at large as of Friday. EMS transported the woman to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition and underwent further evaluation.
