Men’s Basketball to play exhibition game against St. John’s in Madison Square Garden

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The University of Texas and St. John’s University have finalized an agreement to play an exhibition game leading into the upcoming 2026-27 season, the two schools announced Monday. The Longhorns will face the Red Storm on Sunday, Oct. 25 in Madison Square Garden.

Tip time, ticket information and any possible television network coverage will be announced at a later date.

The two schools have split their previous two meetings on the hardcourt. St. John’s recorded an 84-76 victory in a NCAA Tournament Round of 32 contest on March 17, 1991, in Dayton, Ohio. The Longhorns responded with a 77-76 win in the third-place game of the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic on Nov. 17, 2006, in Madison Square Garden.
