Queens College has been named a “Best College” for the 35th year in a row by the Princeton Review, a respected education services company which publishes a yearly guide of the 392 best colleges in the nation based on a number of categories.
Queens College, located on an 80-acre campus in Flushing, has been named as a Princeton Review Best College since the guide’s inception and has also been named as a Best Regional College-Northeast in the latest college guide for 2027.
The Princeton Review, which offers test preparation, tutoring and other educational services, features 50 student-survey-based category lists rather than a numerical ranking, with Queens College included among the general Best College category as well as the Best Regional College-Northeast list.
The recently-published guide noted that students praised Queens College for offering a “high-quality education at an affordable price” in the newly-published guide, with one student stating that professors “genuinely care” for students.
Elizabeth Hendrey, interim preisdent of Queens College, said the college was “honored” to be included in the guide for the 35th year in a row. She cited the college’s “up-to-date” education and affordable costs as reasons for its continued inclusion in the guide.
“It should come as no surprise to New Yorkers that we have been named again—as we have been every year since the inception of these rankings,” Hendrey said in a statement. “We offer an excellent, always up-to-date education, competitive with the best schools but at a more affordable cost.
“Our faculty are standouts who win many awards and honors, our facilities are enviable, and our students are highly motivated. We are an indispensable gateway to professional careers and graduate school.”
Queens College representatives attributed the college’s success to its “forward-looking” curriculum, which is continuously updated with new degree opportunities.
The college, which offers more than 60 undergraduate programs in addition to over 100 graduate degrees and programs, has added a number of new courses for the 2026-27 academic year, including a BS in Early Childhood and Childhood Education in its School of Education and an Introduction to Business Analytics in its School of Business.
The college’s Department of Psychology is rolling out several new courses for the academic year, including Introduction to Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, while Italian American Studies has announced the revival of its Italian American Cinema: Production and Representation program.
Outside of the Princeton Review, Queens College has received several other high-profile accolades in recent years, ranking eighth asa Forbes College with the highest return on investment for graduates nationwide and Sixth as a Wall Street Journal Best Value College Nationwide. Forbes Magazine, Money Magazine and US News and World Report also recognized the college as a top northeastern college.
The college has also been ranked in the top 1% of colleges across the US in helping disadvantaged students attain upward social and economic mobility, placing eighth in CollegeNET’s Social Mobility Index in 2020.
