Amid a growing backlash to new data center development in the US, New York State has — alongside other states including Texas — hit the brakes on new construction with a one-year moratorium. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (Nyserda) is evaluating how it can interconnect those new large-load customers without overloading the grid, while minimizing the impact on ratepayers.
