Traffic alert: I-690 off-ramp toward Syracuse to be closed for a week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Transportation is alerting drivers to an upcoming ramp closure on I-690.

The Department of Transportation said the I-690 westbound off-ramp to Exit 15A (West St) in Syracuse will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays from Sept. 17 to 24 for construction activities as part of the Interstate 81 Viaduct Project.

Drivers are advised to follow the signed detour that directs traffic west on I-690 to Exit 14 (N Geddes St), to south on North Geddes Street, then east on I-690 to Exit 15 (West St).

Construction activities are weather-dependent and subject to change based on conditions, the department said.
