CITYWIDE — WIDOWS’ & CHILDREN’S BENEFIT FUND, ALSO KNOWN AS ANSWER THE CALL, mourns the line of duty death of Firefighter Patrick D. Brady. Answer the Call, a nonprofit that provides immediate and ongoing financial assistance and support to the families of fallen New York City first responders, will provide Brady’s widow with immediate-support funding, including the stipend for 2025. Answer the Call’s goal is to provide his widow with an annual stipend for the rest of her life.

“Answer the Call is heartbroken by the loss of Firefighter Patrick Brady, who had served the FDNY for over a decade and had dedicated his life to serving others,”  said Lauren Profeta, executive director of Answer the Call. “Our hearts go out to his family and the entire FDNY during this unimaginably difficult time.”

Answer the Call, which baseball icon and NY Mets player Daniel J. “Rusty” Staub founded in 1985, after losing NYPD uncle in the line of action, has helped more than 1,000 families and has distributed more than $180 million in financial assistance.
