All Manhattan-bound lanes on the upper level of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge were closed as police investigate a deadly crash that claimed the life of a 29-year-old motorcyclist Thursday, cops said.
The victim was riding a blue 2025 Yamaha motorcycle on the span’s westbound lanes when he lost control of the bike and struck the center divider around 6:38 p.m., police said.
He was thrown from the bike and suffered severe injuries as he struck the pavement, according to police.
Medics rushed the man to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he died. The man’s name was not immediately disclosed.
The department advised motorists heading into Manhattan from Queens to expect delays and seek alternative routes.
