CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (WABC) — Police have released a photo of a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that injured two people near the New York Carnival Parade on Labor Day.
The NYPD released photos of the man overnight.
Police say he shot a woman in the leg and a 19-year-old man in the foot around 4 p.m. at Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue.
Both victims are in stable condition.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact them.
The shooting was one of separate shootings that injured three people in Crown Heights that afternoon, near the New York Carnival Parade festivities.
Police say a man was shot in front of 800 Nostrand Ave. at St. John’s Place, just north of Eastern Parkway.
The shootings came despite the extensive security measures taken by the NYPD in an effort to prevent the type of violence that has plagued the New York Carnival Parade in the past.
Earlier in the day, five people were stabbed just hours before the start of the parade.
All five victims were expected to survive.
Last year, six people were shot, none fatally, and one person was slashed.
