NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — Mayor Zohran Mamdani will meet with President Donald Trump at Gracie Mansion on Monday, according to the mayor’s press office. The meeting will focus on issues affecting New York City and New Yorkers, though a specific time has not yet been announced.
The meeting comes months after Mamdani and Trump held their first face-to-face meeting in the Oval Office, where the two leaders struck a notably cordial tone despite months of public clashes during Mamdani’s mayoral campaign.
Following that White House meeting, Mamdani described the conversation as “productive” and said it focused on shared priorities, including affordability, crime, rents, grocery costs and utility prices. Trump, in turn, praised the mayor-elect, calling him a “rational” person and expressing optimism about his leadership of New York City.
At a joint appearance after their Oval Office meeting, both men emphasized areas of agreement, particularly around public safety and lowering costs for New Yorkers, while largely setting aside their previous political disagreements.
Monday’s meeting at Gracie Mansion will mark the latest high-profile discussion between the two leaders as City Hall and the White House continue to engage on issues affecting the nation’s largest city. The mayor’s office has not released additional details about the agenda.
More information about the meeting, including timing, is expected to be announced by City Hall.
