A ground stop is underway at Newark Airport Monday because of air traffic control issues in Philadelphia, authorities say.
Flightaware24, a live flight tracker, showed dozens of jets lined up on a runway awaiting takeoff.
Teterboro Airport in New Jersey was also experiencing a ground stop because of the issue.
The reason for the air traffic capacity issues at Philadelphia International Airport wasn’t immediately clear.
The Federal Aviation Administration is expected to release more information shortly.
As of 10:30 a.m., the ground stops were expected to last until around 11:15 a.m. Delays at Newark, meanwhile, were at 45 minutes and counting.
