TOWN OF BRUSHTON, New York (WWNY) – Autopsies have confirmed that the two people found dead inside a town of Brushton home last week died in an apparent murder-suicide, according to the New York State Police.
Investigators identified the deceased as Martine Decarr, 68, and Drew Harm, 60, both of Brushton.
Following autopsies conducted Friday at Glens Falls Hospital by forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica, Decarr’s death was ruled a homicide and Harm’s death was ruled a suicide. Both died from severe skull fractures and brain injuries resulting from gunshot wounds, police said.
Troopers originally discovered the bodies around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 16 after responding to the residence for a welfare check. Members of the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Violent Crimes Investigation Team, and Forensic Investigation Unit processed the scene.
Authorities have reiterated that there is no threat to the public, and the investigation remains ongoing.
