BRONX (WABC) — A man convicted of assault for slashing an MTA conductor in the face is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday in Bronx Supreme Criminal Court.
The sentencing for Isaiah Thompson, 30, is set for 10 a.m. at the Bronx Hall of Justice.
According to prosecutors, the attack happened on June 10, 2025 on a No. 6 train. The conductor, a 36-year-old mother, had reopened train doors for Thompson at the Morrison Avenue-Soundview station after seeing him run up the stairs.
Prosecutors said Thompson became angry after the conductor made a customary announcement instructing passengers to stand clear of the closing doors.
Authorities said Thompson then rode the train two stops to the Whitlock Avenue station, got off and grabbed the conductor before slashing her with a sharp object.
Thompson was charged with 28 counts, including assault and weapons possession, in connection with the attack. Prosecutors described him as a repeat offender with arrests tied to crimes in the subway system dating back to 2019.
Members and officers of TWU Local 100 are expected to attend the sentencing.
