Police have identified the body of a woman found inside a trash can in Sheepshead Bay almost a week after she was discovered.
Officers responded to a call near the Belt Parkway and Knapp Street on Sep. 16 just after 3 p.m.
When they arrived, they found an unconscious and unresponsive woman inside a trashcan. She was pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene.
Police have now identified her as 38-year-old Tanaya Cambell Ortiz, from Queens.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has not determined her cause death at this time.
