Jennifer Sammartino-Mallen has been named Staten Island borough commissioner for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. She will serve as a chief liaison for community members, stakeholders and elected officials, and report to Deputy Commissioner for Public Affairs Beth DeFalco. Sammartino-Mallen, of West Brighton, has more than 20 years of experience and most recently led Community Media of Staten Island. She also said her work experience with Borough President James Oddo, the VA and RUMC have given her the tools to serve Staten Island and DEP in this role.
