Queens of the Stone Age have shared their new single ‘Where the Goth Girls At?’, the third track to be lifted from their forthcoming ninth album ‘Perfecth’.
The track combines stripped-back riffs and a big chorus alongside strings and horns adding to the weight of the tune. According to Josh Homme, the song draws on memories of growing up in the Palm Desert area and teenage crushes.
“Watching the goth girls working the counter at JCPenney and giving goth makeovers to the old ladies, that’s when I knew the only place I want to be is where the goth girls at,” says Homme. “Teenage love, ain’t it grand?”
‘Where the Goth Girls At?’ follows previously released ‘Perfecth’ tracks ‘Insignificant Other’ and ‘Easy Street’, with the full album due on 30th October.
Produced by Homme and bassist Michael Shuman, ‘Perfecth’ was recorded between New Orleans and Los Angeles and analyses the different forms love can take across its nine tracks.
Queens of the Stone Age are currently touring North America with Foo Fighters and have also announced headline dates across Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore.
