New York City Emergency Management, working with the National Weather Service, has issued a Cold Weather Alert, prompting the city’s Department of Homeless Services to declare a Code Blue.

During a “Code Blue,” outreach teams will canvass all five boroughs to connect vulnerable New Yorkers to shelters. No one who is homeless and seeking shelter will be denied during this period.
