NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Parts of New York and New Jersey are under a state of emergency as a nor’easter batters the tri-state over the weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning and a coastal flood warning for much of New York and New Jersey, as well as a wind advisory and storm warning for much of the tri-state area through Saturday. Share your photos and videos of the damage from the nor’easter by clicking here.
Gov. Kathy Hochul is expected to speak around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday to offer an update on the storm’s impact in New York.

The nor’easter is expected to bring continuous rain throughout the weekend until Monday morning, along with damaging winds and gusts that could reach up to 43 mph.
In preparation for the storm, a state of emergency was declared for Nassau and Suffolk counties, as well as New York City and Westchester. A state of emergency was also declared for Atlantic, Burlington, Cape May, Cumberland, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Salem counties in New Jersey. A travel advisory is also in effect for New York City until Sunday morning.

PSE&G: 19,219 customers without power
NYS Electric & Gas: 428 customers without power
Central Hudson: 1,628 customers without power
PSE&G NJ: 3,892 customers without power
Atlantic City Electric: 9,593 customers without power

LIRR service impacts continue
Long Branch service remains suspended between Valley Stream and Long Beach due to flooding near Island Park; however, the N15 NICE bus is cross-honoring LIRR tickets between Long Beach and Rockville Centre.
The Port Jefferson branch has resumed service with delays between Huntington and Port Jefferson after a downed tree.

LIRR lines partially suspended amid nor’easter
The Long Island Rail Road Port Jefferson and Long Branch lines were suspended just after 8:30 a.m. on Saturday due to a downed tree on the tracks east of Kings Park and flooding near Island Park.
Shuttle bus service is being made available between Huntington and Port Jefferson to accommodate commuters.
