CITYWIDE — NEW YORK ROAD RUNNERS, the nonprofit that runs the TCS New York City Marathon and other races, announced Wednesday that its largest youth event, the TCS New York City Marathon Kids Kickoff for athletes ages 2 to 18, will be held in five park locations over two days.
The races start in Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens and The Bronx on Saturday, Oct. 24, and finish with the final event in Central Park on Sunday, Oct. 25. Registration for all five free youth locations is now open. The Kids Kickoff ushers in NYC Marathon race week.
The Brooklyn event will start at Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6 at 9 a.m. Besides running, families will be able to take part in games and activities at the race festival, including an obstacle course, face painting and photo opportunities. Register at nyrr.org.
