Just one week following its opening night September 22, Max Wolf Friedlich‘s The Holes has already extended its world premiere at Off-Broadway’s The Wild Project. Originally set to close October 18, the production will now close November 15.

Robert Pattinson (Twilight, The Odyssey) is executive producing via his production company, Icki Eneo Arlo. Friedlich’s work returns to NYC following the breakout success of his critically acclaimed play JOB, which transferred to Broadway shortly after its premiere Off-Broadway at the Connelly Theatre.

The Holes stars Bubba Weiler (Saviors), Grantham Coleman (The Great Society), and Tina Benko (Becky Nurse of Salem). Set in a decaying bar in a rapidly gentrifying city upstate, the dark comedy explores the great wars shaping our future, setting shame against desire, tradition against progress, and community against individualism.

The Holes was developed with dramaturg-producer Hannah Getts and will be produced by Getts and Adam Rodner. The creative team will include scenic designer Anna Grigo, lighting designer Evan C. Anderson, sound designer Brandon Bulls, costume designer Lily Cunicelli, creative director Stefan Kohli, marketing strategist Ian Tarbert, publicist Ava Tunnicliffe, head of socials Vincent Perella, graphic designer Julian “the Brainwave” Alicea, general manager Mix and Match Productions, and production counsel Jenny Waxman.

Getts, Rodner, and Russell Kahn are producing alongside co-producers Cathy Sarkowsky, Elizabeth Salem, Alex Levy, Jeff and Caryl Hahn, Jordan Silver/Will Stokes, and Super Athletic Film Co. Pattinson’s Icki Eneo Arlo is executive producer.
