Mayor Zohran Mamdani will visit “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” when the ABC late night show performs in Brooklyn on Monday night.
Hizzoner is slated to be joined by Staten Island native Pete Davidson and Brooklyn band TV On The Radio at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Mamdani came to Kimmel’s defense at this time last year by threatening to withdraw from an ABC town hall when Disney, the station’s parent company, suspended the talk show host in the aftermath of the killing of right-wing pundit Charlie Kirk.
“I am withdrawing not as an indictment of the local affiliate or the hardworking journalists, but rather in response to the corporate leaders who have put their bottom line ahead of their responsibility in upholding the freedom of the press,” then mayoral candidate Mamdani said amid Kimmel’s temporary suspension.

He accused ABC executives of “cowardice” during a time he felt they should’ve stood up to the Trump White House in “this moment of authoritarianism.”
ABC soon after reinstated Kimmel, prompting Mamdani ‘s campaign to say the Democratic candidate was again amenable to working with the network.
Kirk supporters had taken issue with Kimmel charging Republican politicians with using the 31-year-old activist’s death to “score political points.”
Mamdani is part of a decidedly anti-Trump guest list joining Kimmel this week. That rundown includes Howard Stern, Bruce Springsteen, Sen. Bernie Sanders from Vermont along with Kimmel’s TV counterparts, John Oliver and Seth Meyers.
The Mayor was caught off guard by seeing seeing funnyman Ramy Youssef portray him on a “Saturday Night Live” sketch over the weekend. The season premiere’s cold opening took aim at Mamdani’s cordial relationship with Trump.
“I was watching it live,” Mamdani told reporters in Lower Manhattan. “Quite an absurd experience.”
Sir Paul McCartney will close Kimmel’s week in Brooklyn by appearing on the program Friday. Kimmel returns to Los Angeles next week.
