A Staten Island resident and Borough President Vito Fossella clashed on social media over flooding on Doty Avenue in South Beach during a nor’easter. Anthony Bernardo posted on Instagram to complain about the street, and Fossella replied with his own video showing Doty largely clear and less flooded. Bernardo said, “I’m calling out Vito Fossella,” while Fossella said, “News flash, Doty Avenue has flooded since Noah got on his ark.” The city Department of Environmental Protection said crews were dispatched to Doty Avenue on Saturday to pump down the water, and returned again Sunday as flooding continued.
