The St. Joseph by-the-Sea boys’ varsity soccer team poses with their championship plaque after defeating St. Peter’s in the CHSAA A final on Nov. 10, 2025.Michael O’Brien
THE BRONX— Monday night’s cold, blustery weather on the campus of Fordham University may not have been ideal for a championship soccer match, but the St. Joseph by-the-Sea Vikings still made it a night to remember, capping their season with a dramatic 1-0 victory over St. Peter’s in an all-Island CHSAA A final.
The Vikings made history in the process, becoming the first St. Joseph by-the-Sea boys’ team to complete an undefeated season capped by a championship — an achievement head coach Sandy Rapaglia has been chasing since taking over the program in 2018.
